New car models fascinate all car suppliers. And since these in crisis times are competing in regards to who will introduce more models, the battle for long-term business is getting fierce. At the start of the millennium work for the Volkswagen Bratislava factory attracted a German group called Richard Fritz. Since 2001 its daughter company RF Malacky has been successful at the installations and completion of window modules, spoilers, and the processing of plastic parts for Polo, Touareg and Porsche Cayenne. At the moment the car manufacturer is planning the low cost family car Up! and RF wants to be part of this again. And it’s confident when it comes to supplying rear and side windows. But RF’s representatives say that now it won’t definitely be the biggest supply source. According to Katarína Oslejová, head of logistics in RF Malacky, what contributed to the company’s success was the skillful and cheap labor, five-year tax holiday, proximity as well as highway connection to the Bratislava factory. The first deliveries of 600,000 side windows for Polo constructed in Bratislava and Spain left Malacky in 2001. Later their portfolio included Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Opel, Skoda, PSA, and Maserati and others. Nowadays the factory produces ten million windows for almost 40 models annually.
