The source of the conflict between the Bratislava ampoules and containers producer Medical Glass and its former mother company and current energy supplier Technical Glass, is the illegal consumption of electricity via cable. According to the customer Medical Glass, this overconsumption was contracted. And according to the supplier Technical Glass, it’s an illegal consumption of electricity that was not ordered. The ongoing conflict among the Slovak energy network administrator and the daughter company of the Italian glass concern Stevanato Group, has given rise to losses of hundreds of thousands of euros, a series of lawsuits and other legal action. In 2001, the joint-stock company Medical Glass was set up as the daughter company of Technical Glass to produce glass containers for the pharmaceutical industry. Very soon it proved to be the most viable operation in the area. In autumn of 2005, Stevanato Group, one of the leading international players in the business, bought most of the Medical Glass shares, and later all, as well as used properties. Technical Glass, whose production was deteriorating and finished a year ago, went from mother company to an energy supplier of electricity, gas and water. It also dealt with drainage of wastes through canalization. I Pg. 30
